This is a rare August 27th, 1951 broadside (single page playbill) from the one-week, Pre-Broadway engagement of the LOUIS VERNEUIL comedy "LOVE AND LET LOVE" at the Shubert Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut. (The production would open October 19th, 1951 at the Plymouth Theatre in New York City and run for only 51 performances.) ..... The play starred GINGER ROGERS and featured TOM HELMORE, DOROTHY ADAMS (replaced out-of-town by HELEN MARCY), DAVID PERKINS, CHARLES ANDRE (replaced out-of-town by PAUL McGRATH) and VIRGINIA McMATH ..... CREDITS: Book by LOUIS VERNEUIL; Sets designed by RALPH ALSWANG; Costumes designed by JEAN LOUIS; Directed by LOUIS VERNEUIL; Produced by ANTHONY B. FARRELL ..... DETAILS: The single page, two-sided playbill measures 6" X 10 1/4" inches, is printed on a brown newsprint stock and includes full production credits, cast list and synopsis of scenes, but no cast photos or bios. There is a furniture advertisement on the backside ..... CONDITION: (Please Note!) There is edge chipping at the top and bottom, a fold across the middle, a light vertical crease and minor discoloration. Despite these flaws, this rare playbill will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian.
