This is a rare January 8th, 1953 "Playgoer" playbill from the three-night, out-of-town tryout of the new EDWIN BRONNER thriller "THE INTRUDER" at the Shubert Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut. (The production opened December 4th, 1952 at the Locust Street Theatre in Philadelphia and closed January 12th, 1953 in Northampton, Massachusetts, failing to arrive on Broadway.) ..... The play starred MARGARET O'BRIEN and featured ANN SHOEMAKER, JULIE HAYDON, RICHARD FRASER and LIONEL WILSON ..... CREDITS: Book by EDWIN BRONNER; Sets and Costumes designed by EDWARD GILBERT; Directed by EDDIE DOWLING; Produced by EDDIE DOWLING and JOHN D. MacARTHUR ..... DETAILS: The forty page playbill measures 6" X 9 1/4" inches and includes full production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes, bios of each of the leading actors and wonderful vintage advertising, but no cast photos ..... CONDITION: (Please Note!) There is a light moisture stain along the inside seam, light creasing and moderate edge wear. Despite these flaws, this rare playbill will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
